Betting Info as of 11/8 per Bovada; lines are listed with Home Teams

All Times are Eastern

East Carolina @ Cincinnati (-5)

8:00 PM

East Carolina travels to Cincinnati in a wonderful Friday night AAC game. The Pirates come in off of a bye and a three game winning streak to boot. Mike Houston is having his best season as head coach in some time. Quarterback Halton Ahlers sure helps. The experienced passer is confident and great at managing a game. Cincinnati is certainly not as good as last year’s CFP team. That is not in dispute. However, Luke Fickell’s team is still very solid and has a slim outside chance at another NY6 appearance. Sure, the Bearcats rating is nowhere close to last season. But, they are still a consistent team and five is a low number. Betting on favorites with question marks is not typically a great way to increase the bankroll and ECU is on fire lately. Throw in the fact that five is a dead number and it has bounced up and down throughout the wagering. Thus, only a small bet should be made here. The play: Cincinnati-5 (1 unit)

Colorado @ USC (-34.5)

9:30 PM

Colorado is possibly the worst Power 5 football team this season. No, scratch that: Colorado is the worst Power 5 football team this season. The Buffaloes need a major overhaul from a messiah level coach to get back to any level of respectability. For now they are terrible. USC has a real chance at the CFP. The Trojans offense is superb, Lincoln Riley & co. have done wonderful at transferring their system from Oklahoma and seeing results in year one. However, defense is seriously lacking in the Coliseum. Still, Colorado is terrible and can be blindly faded at this point. Generally, or rather almost always, spreads this large should be bet small due to the fact covering typically comes down to whether or not the favorite cares to do so. The play: USC-34.5 (1 unit)

Fresno State @ UNLV (+9.5)

10:30 PM

Fresno is a top G5 team when Jake Haener is taking the snaps. The Bulldogs are average to downright terrible when he is not. Haener should be playing in Las Vegas on Friday night. Thus, Fresno should be able to win the game with some ease. However, UNLV has improved almost all season. The Runnin Rebels are likely nearing their ceiling of performance. UNLV can absolutely keep this one respectable at home. Fresno’s erratic play is worrisome and should curtail any desire to bet big. Plus, plus-nine and half is brutal. Ten is a key number so lay the current spread if you like the favorite, but wait for ten if you want to take the points. If it never gets there, pass. The play: wait for UNLV+10 (1 unit), pass otherwise
